Thrifting Date Ensemble

Posted: September 26th, 2011 ˑ Filled under: Outfits, Vintage ˑ  1 Comment

On Friday I went on a little thrifting date with the boyfy. We went up to Brunswick for lunch and trawled through the many available op-shops in hopes of finding something funky.

Even though we didn’t find anything that exciting, I was still thrilled about getting a set of double pointed knitting needles for $1 from Scavengers.

Unintentionally, I had dressed quite appropriately for this shopping trip as my outfit for the day half comprised of my mother’s hand me downs.

Whenever I am back in Malaysia to visit the parents I always rummage through my mother’s wardrobe. She almost never throws anything out and her closet has become a growing sentient form where I always seem to find something awesome in it that she no longer wants but can never bear to throw out.  This of course means that many old items I find are free for the taking!

Hand-me downs from my Mother:

Top (worn as a dress): 20 year old Armani Jeans

(Yes I am quite short and I can wear a shift top as a dress)

Belt: no idea where it is from , but as far as I’m concerned it came from my mother’s closet and is probably 20 years old

Other items:

Cardigan: Country Road

Shoes: Camper

Bag: Nancybird

I hope to find more goodies in the magical wardrobe  next time I head back to Malaysia ;)

Also Thank you all so much for the comments left on ‘To Shred or Not To Shread?’ . I’ve made a start on the tutorial so keep checking in or follow to be fully updated! The post will be up within the week.
