DIY Tribal Bodycon Skirt – Bag Transformation

When I saw this knitted bag, I knew the pattern and size would be perfect for a bodycon skirt!

Tools:

• Scissors
• Bag
• Yarn
• Darning needle / Tapestry Needle – basically a huge needle that can thread yarn

Tutorial:

1. Cut off Handle and trim stray ends

2. Cut across the base of the bag – this will turn the bag into a tube

3. Hem the bottom of the tube where you have just cut.

4. Reinforce the hem

I did steps 3 and 4 using a backstitch and a blanket stitch all along the bottom of the skirt with yarn and a darning needle. I then did a zigzag stitch with a sewing machine to secure the bottom a little more.

You can do this with virtually any knitted bag as long as its big enough.

I didn’t place a zip in because there was enough give in the knitting for me to shimmy my way into it. I hope you like it
